Final Steel Beam Placed on New Patient Tower
at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center

The final steel beam was lifted and set into place on the new nine-level patient tower at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 20. The $150 million tower project is ahead schedule, now expected to open in April 2010.

The 315,000-square-foot tower will include approximately 180 private inpatient rooms. The construction team includes Northstar Management Company, Christner Inc., McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., Heideman Associates, Inc., Schneider Structural Engineering, Inc, Rock Hill Mechanical Corp., Guarantee Electrical Company, Trojahn Plumbing Systems and Engineered Fire Protection, LLC.
