Modern Healthcare Names St. John’s Mercy Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare for Second Year
St. John’s Mercy Health Care again has been named among the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine, one of only 34 employers to make the list a second time. The list of the 100 organizations recognized is now available online by clicking here.
Over 300 companies participated in the second annual health care workplace survey that honors outstanding health care organizations at the national level. The program evaluates organizations in core areas such as leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, training and development, and pay and benefits. St. John’s Mercy was selected for co-worker-friendly amenities such as an on-site daycare center, a gym, lactation rooms for nursing mothers, tuition reimbursement and an open-door policy with Denny DeNarvaez, president and CEO of St. John’s Mercy Health Care.
DeNarvaez said: “It is an honor to be recognized once again as a top employer in health care. The numerous honors St. John’s Mercy has achieved over the years are made possible by the hard work and contributions of everyone in the organization, thus making a healing environment possible, not only for patients, but co-workers as well.”
Along with the Modern Healthcare recognition, St. John’s Mercy also has received top employer honors from the St. Louis Business Journal for two years, this year entering the “All Star” category.
Modern Healthcare will reveal the specific ranking of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, from 1 to 100, in a special supplement to be published October 26, 2009.
Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy Health System, St. John’s Mercy Health Care operates St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo., St. John's Mercy Health Services and St. John's Mercy Medical Group.
