Congratulations to you and
your family.
Now that your baby is going
home, you may feel excited and confident, yet unsure at times, proud and impatient
to start your life with your new baby. You may also feel you will be on your
own. But we will be here for you long after your baby is discharged.
As you continue to love
and nurture your baby, you will see your baby thrive and realize that you know
your baby better than anyone else. You may still have questions at times and
if so, please refer to the teaching materials or call us with any questions.
One of the ways we keep
in touch with you is the NICU Reunion. Every other year, the Medical Center
sponsors a reunion for all the children who were patients in the NICU. This
special event is enjoyed by the NICU staff, parents and children as a time for
renewing acquaintances and sharing some very special memories.
An invitation to the next
reunion will be sent to you several weeks before it is held. We hope you and
your family will join us. We always love to see "our babies" and how
they've grown.
Getting to know your baby
is a lifelong process. All of us at St. John's Mercy wish you and your special
baby well, as you begin your life together as a family.
